I aim to bring together a lifelong journey in art, education, and human connection. As an art educator, creative consultant, and doctoral candidate whose work bridges painting, pedagogy, and public engagement. From NYU’s Studio Arts program in Venice to leading national design campaigns, my path has always centered on storytelling, identity, and the power of creative transformation.

  • My artistic practice is grounded in minimal abstraction, influenced by Taoist philosophy and natural elements—sand, clay, wood, mesh, and fiber. These materials form contemplative surfaces that ask us to pause, reflect, and reimagine. I’ve exhibited work internationally and across New York City, and my art is held in both gallery and private collections.
  • As the founder of the Social Artistic Model (SAM), I help learners and educators reframe art as a space for human flourishing—where autonomy, imagination, critique, and agency intersect with real-world application. I lead interdisciplinary workshops, design socially responsive curricula, and mentor students in portfolio development, career readiness, and creative entrepreneurship.
  • As a success coach, I believe that mentorship must be personal, purposeful, and rooted in lived experience. I support aspiring artists and creative thinkers in navigating the dynamic worlds of art, design, and education—equipping them to develop meaningful practices, compelling portfolios, and resilient identities. My coaching integrates the principles of SAM and centers the intersection of art education and intentional long-term quality engagement to amplify their impact.
  • Through SAM and beyond, I invite others to create with intention, connect through community, and see art as a discipline and as a lifelong joyful practice.

Launch Creative Minds!

From classrooms to galleries, corporate campaigns to community-based installations, Kimmy Ma continues to explore art as a relational, reflective, and transformative practice.

As a success coach, I believe that mentorship is most powerful when it is personal, purposeful, and rooted in lived experience. I work closely with aspiring artists and creative thinkers to help them navigate the evolving landscape of art, design, and education—equipping them with the tools to build resilient, meaningful, and values-driven careers.

My coaching practice emphasizes the intersection of art, education, and marketing, guiding clients in developing authentic portfolios, impactful visual narratives, and strategic approaches to creative entrepreneurship. I advocate for art as a catalyst for positive societal change, encouraging artists to use their voices not only to express, but to lead, question, and connect.

Through a collective and lifelong learning mentality, I help clients recognize their unique strengths, embrace critique, and cultivate the confidence to thrive in today’s creative industries—aligned with the principles of the Social Artistic Model (SAM). Flourishing in the arts is not just about success; it’s about meaning, connection, and contribution.

Art & Mrs. Ma

  • Kimmy Ma is a multidisciplinary teaching artist, founder of Kimmy Ma ART Studio & Creative Consulting, and a doctoral candidate in Educational Leadership. Her work explores the intersection of art, identity, and human flourishing, with a focus on long-term visual arts engagement and social connection. A graduate of NYU’s Studio Arts program in Venice, Italy, Kimmy’s thesis centered on duality in minimal abstraction, influenced by the Tao Te Ching, and incorporated natural materials such as sand, fiber, clay, and mesh.
  • Her exhibitions span the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice to Queens College galleries and NYC libraries. She has also led national creative campaigns for global brands like Mercedes-Benz and Hennessy, blending strategy with design. Today, Kimmy is best known for developing the Social Artistic Model (SAM)—a practice-derived framework informed by Dewey, Eisner, and Wenger-Trayner that promotes autonomy, imagination, and social learning through the arts. She continues to lead collaborative projects, mentor students, and present at conferences, using art as a powerful vehicle for reflection, connection, and transformation.
